WRITING, TEACHING, & MENTORING

OH MY!

Jonita G. Saint-Leger is a published author, poet, screenwriter and content producer.

When not creating, she enjoys spending time with her family and their three fur babies. Her passion for writing has dictated her walk in life from an early age. Her early musings of being a professional writer were dashed when she was advised that the life of a writer, meant a life of hardship.

Unable to fight the power of the written word, she left her career in social work to pursue writing as a performance poet and public relations specialist where she used her writing skills for marketing campaigns.

After a hiatus taken to start her family, Jonita penned her first published children's book and continued writing in the form of a narrative as life brought on new experiences.

Once approached about her beginnings in writing, Ms Saint-Leger began a literary non-profit organization to encourage young people to follow their dreams of writing at an early age, as soon as the spark is ignited.

This form of mentoring escalated into Jonita Saint-Leger becoming both a public school teacher and a private educator with a focus on book coaching.

ABOUT: Welcome
Fountain Pen

"EXPERIENCING THE JOY OF BEGINNING WRITERS, WHEN YOU WITNESS THEM FALLING IN LOVE WITH THE CRAFT, IS THE KIND OF REWARD EVERY TEACHER HOPES FOR, AND ONE THAT I GET TO EXPERIENCE EVERY DAY,"

I have always loved telling stories. I love the exhilaration of pulling in an audience and taking them on a fantastical adventure. This feeling of elation when creating is magical!

This feeling is what I want to nourish. It is the feeling I carried when performing spoken word on the stages of New York City, when publishing three books and while working on other creative projects such as scripts for a web series, a short film, and a documentary.

For this reason, this love of writing, I extend myself to others by manifesting a non-profit organization that cultivates young writers.

If I can save one burgeoning writer from turning away from their birthright because of fear, I would have recognized my own gift and mission to the young.

"Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right." - Henry Ford
